MOONQUAKE 32" Bladeless Tower Fan and Air Purifier 2-in-1
If you're looking for a tower fan that blows more air, this 32-inch model is tall enough to reach the ceilings of most bedrooms. The tall fan's leafless design earned the highest safety rating from a leading consumer safety group.
The Bladeless Tower Fan and Air Purifier 2-in-1 from Moonquake is a cool gadget for hot summer nights that sleeps you to sleep. It's one of the few devices on the market that can both function as an air purifier and a night light, which is really nice. The fan has a large size and a 10-meter remote, so it can function quite well as a central air purifier in an open floor plan. The clock display and LED notification light are a nice bit of added functionality. Unlike other tower fans, this one has a sleek, modern, modern look, which is exactly what you'd expect from a name like Moonquake (a combination of "moon" and "quake"). It's also reasonably quiet, thanks to the leafless design and a 9-speed control, and it runs smoothly and quietly, even on high speed. It's also pretty lightweight, which is nice when moving it from room to room. The remote control works surprisingly well (we had trouble with other products we tried), and the fan's LED notification light moves with the wind, so it's really cool when it flickers. Another nice touch: the air filter is easy to change out, and the filter is washable, so it'll last a long time. The tower fan is pretty pricey, but when you consider its functionality, its sleek design, and its novelty (and the fact that the filters are washable), it's worth every penny.

TRUSTECH Evaporative Air Cooler
The cooler's water tank and ice boxes take up quite a bit of your living space, but it delivers 120 square feet of cooling. It's the most expensive cooler we tested, but its 36-hour timer lets you set it and forget it.
The first thing you'll notice about the Trustech 40" Oscillating Fan/Evaporative Cooler is that the fan can be left on for 8 hours continuously, which is 4 times longer than most fans. Its oscillation feature helps you get a breeze in up to 3 different directions. This tower fan has a 3-speed setting, 3-wind type remote control, a 3-way air direction switch, and a timer function with auto shut off. We love Pond's Cold Cream Shave Gel ($5, Target), which is super moisturizing. The cool mist from this 40" oscillating fan is so refreshing and relieving, and it's the perfect companion to Pond's Cold Cream.

Aigostar Cooling Tower Fan with Remote Oscillating Quiet Bladeless Evaporative Air Cooler Humidifier for Room
Aigostar's cooling fan was quiet, looked stylish, and had the functionality we most sought in a tower fan.
The Aigostar Cooling Tower Fan is an impressive device that rotates 60 times per minute, allowing you to enjoy the cool air during hot summer days while barely hearing any noise. There are 7 different speeds and 3 sleep modes you can enjoy. The timer is a nice feature that allows you to set the tower fan to shut off after 1-9 hours. The water tank is 2.5 liters, which is large enough to hold up to 3 ice boxes. The water fan comes with 1-year warranty, and you have the option to buy it with or without a remote. The model we tested comes with the remote control.

Vornado 184 Whole Room Air Circulator Tower Fan
Enjoy more air movement without the noise or cost of running a whole-home HVAC system with a tower fan like this one.
The Vornado 184 Tower Fan is big, but it puts out a lot of cooling power, which makes it a good choice for whole-room cooling if you choose the right placement. It's not quite as quiet as our previous pick, but it's definitely quieter than some of the louder competitors. It uses the same motor and assembly as the 58-inch model, but since the 184 is smaller it's easier to place in a room with less space. This fan is a good choice for rooms where you dont want to be constantly adjusting the height or angle of the oscillating tower. Overall, the 184 is the best tower fan we tested: It's powerful, it has a lot of different options, it looks good, and it feels good.

Seville Classics UltraSlimline Oscillating Tower Fan with Fresh Air for Indoor
These fans are good but the UltraSlimline 40-in. tower fan is our favorite. Its oscillating feature makes sure the entire room stays at the perfect temperature while the sleek, modern appearance allows it to fit in perfectly with any room interiors.
This stylish (and relatively affordable) oscillating tower fan made quite an impression on us. It quietly oscillates, moves slow and steady, and offers four speeds. It cools the whole room without distracting conversation or noise. The only complaint we had was the lack of a remote. But to be fair, this one costs just $30 more than our top pick.

Lasko Products Portable Electric 42" Oscillating Tower Fan with Fresh Air Ionizer
This fan has it all, including oscillation for even air distribution. The adjustable height is easy to reach, even for taller people. Although the fan is more expensive than some of the choices we tested, its dramatically improved airflow makes it worth its extra price.
The Lasko T42950 is a great fan. It's the biggest model we tested, so it produces plenty of airflow (we measured it at almost 0.9 cfm), and it has two oscillation settings, making it perfect for cooling off a large open room. It's also quiet, even on the highest setting, so you can't hear it when it's running. This model also has two adjustable tilt positions, so you can aim the air wherever you like. In our tests, its airflow and oscillation were the best of any tower fan we tested, but its oscillation was slightly less precise than our previous pick. Still, it's an excellent all-around choice.

Lasko Portable Electric 42" Oscillating Tower Fan with Fresh Air Ionizer
This tower fan is perfect for cooling down a room. It has a powerful motor, three speeds, and oscillates, too. It even has an ionizer. The remote control, timer, and oscillating function make running the fan easy and loved by many.
The Lasko 2551 Oscillating Fan is the perfect fan for those who want to add some cool air circulation to their home or office. The fan works like a charm, keeping you cool and comfortable. In fact, the fan is so quiet that without much noise, you can fall asleep to it. The fan also runs very efficiently helping to keep your electricity bills low.

U ULTTY ULTTY Bladeless Tower Fan and Air Purifier in one
The ULTTY bladeless tower fan and air purifier is a low-cost, good quality fan that proved itself to be quiet, dust- and germ-free, comfortable, and effective.
The ULTTY Bladeless Tower Fan and Air Purifier in one is a funny thing: It's both a functional tower fan, and a true air purifier. Its three-modes (low, medium, and high) include a rotating dial that lets you select the speed of the fan. The fan is tall enough to keep my home office relatively comfortable, but it's narrow enough not to overwhelm a small bedroom. The tower fan has a soothing purr that lulls me into sleep, and the sleep timer stops the fan after 30 minutes of operation. The air purifier, meanwhile, is rated to capture 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns in size, including pollen, dander, and dust. It's effective enough to purify the air of my bedroom, but it's also small enough for me to store on a shelf in my closet. The fan unit is quiet, even when on high, and the oscillating action distributes air in a wide fan pattern. As with many tower fans, long cords make this unit less than ideal for camping. However, at $20, it's certainly affordable enough to consider, especially if you frequently spend time at home.

Air Choice Bladeless Tower Fan
This cool fan features 3 adjustable speeds, 3 wind modes, and a 7.5-hour timer, giving you full control over its cooling power.
The Air Choice Bladeless Tower Fan is one of the simplest and most affordable tower fans on this list, but it offers plenty of features for its price, making it a good choice for anyone looking for an energy-efficient cooling option. Its slim and compact design makes it an ideal bedroom cooling option, and its remote control makes it much more convenient to use. Its basic, no-frills design helps it blend in with most decors, and the design of its three airflow modes and selectable speed settings make it a good option for cooling a whole room. We were also impressed that, despite its low cost, this fan has a powerful motor and strong convection technology that allow it to create powerful cooling wind. The 70 oscillation design helps it create a wide coverage of cool air. Best of all, this 43-inch oscillating tower fan has a timer that can shut off the fan after 7.5 hours.
